Uniontown, PA – Westmoreland County Maintenance Manager David M. Forkey announced the following tentative work plan for the week of September 25, 2023. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.
During county maintenance work activities motorists should expect to encounter flaggers, single-lane restrictions, moving operations, and detours. Motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the usage of headlights.
Base Repairs:
- Route 31 (Summit Road) in Donegal Township.
Bridge repairs:
- Route 3010 (Wyano/Waltz Mills Roads) in South Huntingdon Township.
Mechanized/edge paving:
- Route 2031 (Jones Mill-Stahlstown Road) in Donegal Township.
Parallel/tail ditching:
- Route 2031 (Jones Mill-Stahlstown Road) in Donegal Township.
Patching:
- Route 4046 (Waters Road) in Lower Burrell Township.
Pipe flushing:
- Route 711 (Stahlstown-Ligonier Road) in Cook Township.
- Route 31 (Donegal Road) in Mount Pleasant Township.
- Route 2033 (Bethel Church Road) in Unity Township.
- Route 2016 (Youngstown Ridge Avenue) in Unity and Ligonier Township.
Pipe installation:
- Route 271 in Fairfield Township.
- Route 119 (Crabtree Road) in Hempfield Township.
Sealcoat signs:
- Various routes.
Shoulder cutting:
- Route 259 from Ligonier to Fairfield townships.
Side dozing:
- Route 217 in Derry Township.
Sign replacement/review detours:
- Various routes.
Slide repairs:
- Route 4027 (Paintertown Road) in Penn Township.
Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.
Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the County.
