Uniontown, PA – Washington County Maintenance Manager, Susan Howard, announced the following tentative work plan for the week of August 28, 2023. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.
During county maintenance work activities motorists should expect to encounter flaggers, single-lane restrictions, moving operations, and detours. Motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the usage of headlights.
Base repair:
- Route 40 (National Pike) in North Bethlehem and West Pike townships;
- Route 917 (Cokeburg Road/Cokeburg Bentleyville Road) in Ellsworth Borough and Somerset Township;
- Route 1014 (Lake View Drive) in South Strabane Township;
- Route 3020 (Dille Road) in Amwell and Morris townships; and
- Route 3031 (Grove Road) in Morris Township.
- Route 231 (East Finley Drive) in East Finley Township and
- Route 3021 (McGuffey Road) in West Finley Township.
- Route 40 (Main Street to National Pike) in Centerville Borough and West Brownsville and West Pike townships and
- Interstate 70 in Buffalo, Donegal, Fallowfield and Somerset townships and Speers and Twilight boroughs.
- Route 2039 (Clarksville Road) in East Bethlehem Township.
- Interstate 70 in Buffalo, Canton, Donegal, North Franklin and South Strabane townships.
Paving:
- Route 40 (National Pike to Chestnut Street Extension) in Buffalo, Canton, Donegal townships and Claysville Borough and City of Washington;
- Route 231 (East Finley Drive to Wellsburg Road) in Blaine, Donegal, East Finley, and Independence townships and Claysville Borough;
- Route 3006 (Newman Road) in Buffalo Township; and
- Route 4024 (Clays Taylor Town Road to Rural Valley Road) in Blaine Township.
Seal coating:
- Route 4008 (Eldersville Road to Market Street) in Burgettstown Borough and Jefferson and Smith townships;
- Route 4014 (State Line Road) in Jefferson Township;
- Route 4018 (Meadow Croft Road) in Independence and Jefferson townships;
- Route 4023 (Strope Road) in Jefferson Township;
- Route 4025 (Meneely Road to Cedar Grove Road) in Jefferson Township;
- Route 4027 (Cedar Grove Road) in Jefferson Township; and
- Route 4029 (Cross Creek Road) in Cross Creek Township.
Slide repair:
- State Route 2022 (Barr Run Road) in West Bethlehem Township.
- Route 50 (Avella Road) in Cross Creek, Independence, and Mount Pleasant townships;
- Route 231 (Scenic Drive) in Independence Township;
- Route 331 (Brush Run Road) in Canton and Hopewell townships;
- Route 4018 (Meadow Croft Road) in Independence and Jefferson townships; and
- Route 4029 (Cross Creek Road) in Cross Creek Township.
Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.
Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the County.
