Overnight I-376, I-279 Bridge Inspection Activities Sunday Night in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing bridge inspection activities on I-376 (Parkway East) and I-279 (Parkway North) in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, will occur Sunday night, July 13 weather permitting.

Inspection activities will occur on several I-376 and I-279 ramps, requiring traffic restrictions from 7 p.m. Sunday night to 5 a.m. Monday morning in the following locations:

  • Single-lane closure on the outbound (westbound) Fort Pitt Bridge (lower deck)
  • Single-lane closure on northbound I-279 between the Fort Pitt Bridge and the Fort Duquesne Boulevard/Convention Center/Strip District (Exit 70B) exit
  • Single-lane closure on southbound I-279 between the 10th Street Bypass on-ramp and the Fort Pitt Bridge
  • Full closure of the ramp that carries Liberty Avenue to westbound I-376

Traffic from Liberty Avenue to westbound I-376 will be detoured.

  • From Liberty Avenue, turn left onto Commonwealth Place
  • Turn left onto the Boulevard of the Allies
  • Turn left onto Stanwix Street
  • Turn left onto Fort Duquesne Boulevard
  • Bear right onto the 10th Street Bypass toward 376 West/Fort Pitt Bridge/Airport
  • Take the ramp to 376 West/Fort Pitt Bridge/Airport
