Route 531 in Erie County Reopened as Construction Continues

Route 531 (Depot Road) near the Interstate 90 interchange is reopened following the completion of work on that section of the roadway.

Route 531 (Depot Road) near the Interstate 90 interchange is reopened following the completion of work on that section of the roadway. Drivers should be alert for lane restrictions as concrete paving is completed on the northbound side of Route 531.

Davison Road is expected to reopen and the lane restrictions will be lifted at the end of the month.

At that time, construction on Route 531 moves into the next phase, which includes paving the realigning Route 531 north of Harbor Ridge and adding a turning lane at Clark Elementary School. During a portion of the work, Route 531 will be closed, and a detour will be posted using Route 20, Route 290 (Bayfront Connector), Route 531 and I-90.

The project is expected to be completed this year.

Information on the Depot Road (Route 531) Improvement Project, including maps showing the proposed detours and a comment form, is available online at www.penndot.pa.gov/District1 under the Projects Near You and the District 1 link.

PennDOT urges motorists to slow down when driving in work zones, and also to be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and to pay attention to signs and flaggers. Drive responsibly in work zones for your safety and the safety of the workers.
