Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised a pipe replacement project continues next week on Route 220 in Ulster Township, Bradford County with a scheduled detour implementation on Friday evening, September 5, 2025.

The weekend of Friday, September 5, motorists traveling Route 220 can expect a traffic disruption while the contractor replaces the pipe under Route 220, approximately one-half mile south of Ulster Road (Route 4004). Message boards have been placed along Route 220 which announce traffic impacts.
Traffic Impacts
- Route 220 will be closed in both directions to through traffic between Patterson Boulevard (Route 2036) in North Towanda Township and Bridge Street (Route 1022) in Ulster Township.
- A detour using Route 220, Patterson Boulevard, Route 6 (Reuter Boulevard), James Street (Route 1041), Sheshequin Road (Route 1043) in Sheshequin Township, and Bridge Street (Route 1022), will be in place.
- Motorists should expect 24-hour flagging operations at the intersection of Route 6 (Reuter Boulevard) and James Street (Route 1041), while the detour is in effect.
Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, and should drive with caution.
L.C. Whitford is the prime contractor for this $904,222 pipe replacement project. Work on this project includes tree removal, sediment control, removal of the existing pipe, installation of a concrete box culvert, approach work, and line painting. Work is anticipated to be completed in the November 2025, weather permitting.
