Lane Restriction This Friday on Market Street Bridge Over Susquehanna River in Dauphin and Cumberland Counties

Bridge to be inspected for a future rehabilitation project

Harrisburg, PA
– The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a single lane closure is scheduled for this Friday, September 12, on the Market Street Bridge (Route 3012) spanning the Susquehanna River between Lemoyne Borough, Cumberland County and the City of Harrisburg, Dauphin County.

The closure will be in place for a bridge inspection related to an upcoming rehabilitation project.

Weather permitting, the right eastbound lane will be closed on the bridge from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM Friday, September 12. Restrictions will be lifted immediately after this work is completed to avoid impacts during afternoon rush hour and travel to the Harrisburg Senators home game on City Island.

This work is part of the upcoming rehabilitation project planned for the Market Street Bridge. Inspection work will be performed using a bucket truck situated on the roadway, with no physical work occurring on the bridge.

Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.
