Paving Project in the Edinboro Area of Erie County to Start Soon

A $2.7 million resurfacing project that will give motorists a smoother ride on more than 6.5 miles of roadway in the Borough of Edinboro and Washington Township, Erie County is scheduled to start July 21, 2025.

The project includes 2.54 miles of Route 6N (Route 3006) from the Interstate 79 interchange in Washington Township to the intersection with Route 699 in Edinboro, as well as 4.03 miles of Route 699 (Erie Street) from the intersection with Old State Road (Route 3014) in Washington Township to the intersection with Route 6N in Edinboro.  

Work will include milling and paving, ADA-compliant ramps where needed, updated drainage and guiderail, roadway markers, and roadway line painting.

Construction is expected to begin on Route 699 on July 21, 2025, weather permitting. The overall project is expected to be completed by October 2025.

The contractor is Joseph McCormick Construction Company, Inc. of Erie, PA. The contract cost is $2,786.138.34, which is to be paid entirely with state funds.

Drivers should be alert for traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions and anticipate travel delays during active work hours.
