Expect Minor Delays Along Interstate 70 in Fulton County to Maryland Line on August 21 for Milling and Paving

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advising motorists to expect lane restrictions and minor delays beginning on Thursday, August 21, 2025, on Interstate 70 (I-70) in Fulton County to the Maryland Line.

From Thursday, August 21, to Friday, September 5, the westbound right lane and shoulder of I-70 will be closed from mile marker 165 to mile marker 170 at the Maryland state line for milling and paving operations.

Starting on Wednesday, September 3, to Friday, September 5, the eastbound right lane and shoulder of I-70 will be closed from mile marker 170 at the Maryland state line to mile marker 165 for milling and paving operations.

As always, PennDOT stresses extra caution in all work zones. Motorists should drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for direction from advanced signage.  

New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co., Inc., of New Enterprise, Pa., is the lead contractor for the $30.9 million pavement preservation project, which includes 25 miles of I-70, the rehabilitation of eight bridge-structures, and the replacement of a box culvert in Fulton County. Additional work includes milling and resurfacing, new pavement markings, new signs, guiderail upgrades, sealing joints and tree cutting.
