Philadelphia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing operations are planned next week on three state highways in Philadelphia under several ongoing projects to repair and resurface more than 200 miles of state highway across the five-county region.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Monday, August 18, through Friday, August 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on sections of Veree Road between Bustleton Avenue and Oxford Avenue for milling, and inlet and manhole repair.
- Monday, August 18, through Friday, August 22, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 Am the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on sections of Rising Sun Avenue between Cottman Avenue and U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) for milling.
- Wednesday, August 20, through Friday, August 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure will be in place on sections of Rising Sun Avenue between Cottman Avenue and U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) for inlet and manhole repair.
- Wednesday, August 20, through Friday, August 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure will be in place on sections of Kelly Drive between 25th Street and Ridge Avenue for inlet and manhole repair.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under these resurfacing and improvement projects, PennDOT’s contractors are repairing, milling, and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement that will seal roadways and provide motorists with a safer and smoother riding surface.
