King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that construction is scheduled next week on U.S. 1 and Rockhill Drive in Bensalem Township under a $116 million project to reconstruct, widen, and improve a three-mile section of U.S. 1 in Bucks County.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Monday, June 16, and Tuesday, June 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures will be in place on southbound U.S. 1 between Rockhill Drive and Street Road (Route 132) for overhead sign construction.
- Monday, June 16, through Friday, June 20, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, lane closures with flagging be in place on Rockhill Drive between Neshaminy Boulevard and Old Lincoln Highway for paving.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The work is part of PennDOT’s U.S. 1/RC2 contract that will reconstruct and widen U.S. 1 from south of the Rockhill Drive Interchange to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 Interchange.
