    PennDOT Urges Motorists to Take Alternate Route in Lackawanna, Luzerne, and Susquehanna Counties

    Dunmore, PA – Multiple lane restrictions are scheduled throughout Lackawanna, Luzerne, and Susquehanna counties this week. Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes when possible to avoid delays. Lane restrictions will be in effect as follows:

    Interstate 81 northbound and southbound between Exit 178 (Wilkes Barre/Scranton International Airport) to Exit 185 (President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. Expressway) on Monday, September 8 through Thursday, September 11 and Monday, September 15 through Thursday, September 18 between 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM daily to perform shoulder cutting.

    Interstate 380 southbound between Exit 13 (Gouldsboro) and Exit 20 (Daleville/Moscow) on Monday, September 8 through September 16 between 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM daily to perform bridge deck repairs.

    Route 6 (Casey Highway) between Exit 1 (Marshwood Road/Mount Cobb/Throop) and Exit 2 (Olyphant) on Monday, September 8 to Friday, September 19 from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM to perform brushing.

    Interstate 81 northbound and southbound between Exit 206 (Glenwood/Lenoxville) and Exit 223 (New Milford/Lakeside) on Monday, September 8 through Thursday, September 11 between 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily to perform guiderail repairs.

    Interstate 80 eastbound from Exit 242 (Mifflinville/Mainville) and Exit 256 (Nescopeck/Conyngham) on Monday, September 8 through Thursday September 11 from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM to perform roadwork.

    Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
