Roads Impacted by Flooding, Downed Trees or Utilities in North Central Pennsylvania

Montoursville, PA – Motorists in north central Pennsylvania are advised the following roads in the area (listed by county) are closed or have a lane restriction due to flooding, downed trees or utilities. Updates will be sent periodically.

Columbia

  • (Long-Term Closure) Route 1025 (Summer Hill Road) between Dairy Road/Twin Church Road and Water Dam Road in Briar Creek Township, flooding.
    • A detour using Martzville Road (Route 1014), Kachinka Hollow Road (Route 1019), and Twin Church Road, (Route 1018) is in place.
    • This road is anticipated to be open on Tuesday, July 22, weather permitting.
    •  Maintenance crews continue to repair damaged areas of the road. Work includes patching, placing shoulder back up, shoulder reconstruction, pipe flushing, pipe replacement, paving, and line painting..

Lycoming

  • (OPEN) Route 2085 (Edkin Hill Road) between Route 220 in Penn Township and Edkin Hill Road (Route 3001) in Shrewsbury Township, Sullivan County, flooding.

Sullivan

  • Route 4018 (Dushore Overton Road) at the intersection of South Black Creek Road in Forks Township, flooding.
    • Anticipated to be open to traffic later this evening (Wednesday, July 16, 2025)
  • (OPEN) Route 3001 (Edkin Hill Road) between Route 42 in Shrewsbury Township and Edkin Hill Road (Route 2085) in Penn Township, Lycoming County, flooding.

PennDOT cautions motorists to never drive through flooded roadways, as it takes just two feet of fast-moving water to float a car. Anyone who drives around barriers intended to close a road can face increased penalties if emergency responders are called to rescue motorists who disregard traffic control signs.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com.  511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
