Pipe Replacement Planned Next Week on Smalsh Barrick Road in Snyder County

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a portion of Smalsh Barrick Road (Route 1009) will be closed next week in Middlecreek and Jackson townships, Snyder County, for a pipe replacement project.

Between Thursday, May 22, 2025 and Friday, May 23, 2025, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM, Smalsh Barrick Road will be closed between New Berlin Highway (Route 1005) and Route 522, while a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) maintenance crew performs two pipe replacements.

A detour using Route 522, New Berlin Highway, and Globe Mill Road (Route 1007) will be in place daily while work is being performed. In the event of inclement weather, work is scheduled to take place the week of Tuesday, May 27, 2025.

Motorists should be alert, slow down, watch for lane changes, and drive with caution through the work zone.
