Traffic Switch Coming on Route 322 at Oak Hall Next Week

Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) updated drivers on a pair of bridges spanning Route 3010 (Warner Boulevard) and Spring Creek in College Township. This work will improve the ride quality of the bridges, extend their service life, and improve their overall condition ratings from fair to good.

On Monday, the contractor will switch the traffic pattern on the eastbound and westbound lanes. The left (passing) lane will close on the eastbound side and the right (travel) lane on the westbound side. PennDOT anticipates lifting these closures by the close of business Tuesday, August 26.

PennDOT announced the addition of work to reset rocker bearings and complete additional concrete repairs to this contract. It anticipates that work will start in September and will issue an update on the project at that time. Traffic control will consist of daylight lane closures between Monday morning and Thursday evening. The contractor will reopen all lanes to traffic on the Friday before any Penn State home football matchups.

Work on this pair of bridges includes pouring new concrete decking, joint sealing, repairing the bridge railing, paving the approaches, and miscellaneous construction. George S Hann & Son, Inc. of Littleton, PA, is the contractor on this $2 million project. A third bridge along Route 3022 (University Drive) spanning Route 26 in State College also saw work as part of this contract, which the contractor completed during the 2024 construction season.
