Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced it will close a Route 2006 (Cedar Street) bridge spanning Delaware Creek approximately half a mile east of Salem on Monday, July 21, and start work on a superstructure replacement. This work will improve the ride quality over the bridge and extend its service life.

While the bridge is closed, traffic will follow a detour using Route 2009 (Freed Road) and Route 333. PennDOT expects the bridge to be closed for approximately three months while crews work to replace the superstructure. All schedules are weather-dependent.

In total, four bridges will see work as part of this contract. Work on a Route 4001 bridge in Clinton County started earlier this construction season, as did work on the Mifflin County Veterans Memorial Bridge spanning the Juniata River along Route 103. The contractor will begin work on a Route 2003 (Doe Run Road) bridge in Walker Township later this construction season. Rylind Construction Company, Inc. of Muncy, PA, is the contractor on this $5 million contract.
