Surface Improvements Begin Wednesday in Fayette County

Uniontown, PA—Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing scheduled surface improvement work in three Fayette County locations beginning Wednesday, May 7.

Weekday, daytime (7:00 AM-5:00 PM), rolling single-lane restrictions will occur in active work zones and are anticipated through late August.

  • Route 281 (Bruceton Road/Main Street)
    • From  Route 40 (National Pike) in Henry Clay Township
    • To      Route 281 (Main Street) in Markleysburg Borough
  • Route 1039 (Leisenring Vanderbilt Road)
    • From  Route 201 (Main Street) in Vanderbilt Borough
    • To      Route 1051 (Crawford Avenue) in Dunbar Township
  • Route 3006 (New Geneva Road/Church Street)
    • From  Route 166 (New Geneva Road) in Nicholson Township
    • To      Route 119 (Main Street) in Smithfield Borough

Tresco Paving Corporation will conduct milling, base repair, leveling, wearing, and painting – an infrastructure investment of $2.5 million.

All work depends on weather and operations.

Motorists should exercise caution traveling through work zones and be alert for workers. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.
