Route 21 Roy E. Furman Highway Culvert Replacement Begins Next Week in Greene County

Uniontown, PA—Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing scheduled roadway construction on Route 21 (Roy E. Furman Highway) between Locust Street in Franklin Township and Richhill Street in Waynesburg Borough, Greene County.

Beginning Friday, June 13, commercial vehicles will be restricted to no more than 9.5 feet wide, and speed will be limited to 25 mph through the work zone.

Advanced Builders, Inc. will be replacing an existing 72-inch steel corrugated pipe culvert with a precast concrete box culvert at the Route 21 and Toll Gate Run Road intersection – a $3.37 million infrastructure investment.

Please maintain a safe distance between commercial vehicles to navigate through the temporary roadway. Be alert to new traffic patterns and drive more slowly.

Construction is anticipated to continue until mid-to-late July, depending on weather and operational conditions.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24/7, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to over 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices by calling 5-1-1 or by following regional X alerts.
