PennDOT’s Westmoreland County Maintenance Update

Week of July 14, 2025

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Westmoreland County Maintenance Manager Dave Forkey has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of July 14. All maintenance activities are dependent on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Edge paving:

  • Route 201 (Rostraver Road) in Rostraver Township
  • Route 3017 (Nicholls Hill Road) in Rostraver Township

Pipe installation:

  • Route 982 (Kecksburg Road) in Mount Pleasant Township
  • Route 1067 (Laughner Road) in Fairfield Township
  • Route 1017 (Wilpen Road) in Ligonier Township

Pipe maintenance:

  • Route 51 in Rostraver Township
  • Route 3081 (Mount Nebo Church Road) in East Huntingdon Township

Pipe replacement:

  • Route 1043 (Pandora Road) in Derry Township
  • Route 982 in Unity Township

Shoulder cutting:

  • Route 31 (Laurelville Road) in Mount Pleasant Township

Shoulder stabilization:

  • Route 711 in Cook and Ligonier townships
  • Route 2035 (Solomon Temple Road) in Unity Township

 Slide repair:

  • Route 1026 (Donohoe Road) in Unity Township

Surface treatment:

  • Route 3004 (Hawkeye Road) in East Huntingdon Township

Washouts:

  • Route 4033 (Murrysville Trafford Road) in Penn Township

Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, update existing signs, and address work orders on various state routes throughout the county.

PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, available free of charge 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to over 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices by calling 5-1-1 or following regional X alerts.
