PennDOT’s Washington County Maintenance Update

Week of August 18th, 2025

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Acting Washington County Maintenance Manager Brian Malik has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of August 18. All maintenance activities are dependent on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

 Bridge replacement:

  • Route 1055 (Thomas Eighty Four Road) in North Strabane Township

Drain cleaning/repairs:

  • Route 4003 (Purdy Road) in Hanover Township
  • Route 4011 (Quicksilver Road) in Robinson Township

Mowing:

  • Route 22 Ramp 8046 in Hanover Township
  • Interstate 70 Ramp 8014 (Jefferson Avenue) in the City of Washington
  • Route 221 (S Bridge Road) in Buffalo Township
  • Route 837 Ramp 8025 in Donora Borough
  • Route 4024 (Taylors Ridge Road) in Blaine and Buffalo townships
  • Route 3026 (Enon Church Road) in West Finley and East Finley townships

Patching:

  • Route 40 in West Pike Run Township, Centerville and West Brownsville boroughs
  • Interstate 70 in Somerset and Fallowfield townships, Twilight and Speers boroughs

Paving:

  • Route 4037 (Fort Cherry Road) in Mount Pleasant Township

Pipe replacement:

  • Route 2002 (Vance Station Road) in South Strabane Township

Rock lining:

  • Route 4003 (Purdy Road) in Hanover Township
  • Route 4011 (Quicksilver Road) in Robinson Township

Seal coating:

  • Route 19 (Amity Ridge Road) in Amwell and South Strabane townships
  • Route 2001 (South Main Street Extension) in Amwell and North Franklin townships and the City of Washington
  • Route 2005 (Baker Hill Road, Brush Run Road and Smith Run Road) in Amwell and North Bethlehem townships
  • Route 2006 (Weaver Run Road) in Amwell Township
  • Route 2007 (Hackney Station Road) in Amwell and North Franklin townships
  • Route 2011 (Lone Pine Road) in Amwell and West Bethlehem townships

Slide repairs:

  • Route 4061(Farrar School Road) in Hopewell Township between Fox Road and Route 844 (Jefferson Road)

Shoulder stabilization/side dozing:

Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, update existing signs, and address work orders on various state routes throughout the county. 

PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, available free of charge 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to over 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices by calling 5-1-1 or following regional X alerts.
