Uniontown, PA – PennDOT District 12 would like to inform motorists of traffic signal and intersection upgrade work in Masontown Borough, Brownsville Borough, Washington Township, and the City of Uniontown in Fayette County. The work will take place between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, beginning Monday, April 3 and will continue through early November, weather and operational dependent.
The following intersections are included in the project.

The intersection of Route 166 (Main Street) and Cross Avenue in Masontown Borough

The intersection of Route 166 (Main Street) and Route 3010 (East Church Avenue/ West Church Avenue) in Masontown Borough

The intersections of Route 4003 (High Street) and Second Street, and Route 4003 (High Street) and Route 4025 (Bridge Street) in Brownsville Borough

The intersection of Route 4003 (Market Street) and Brownsville Avenue in Brownsville Borough

The intersection of Route 201 (Washington Road), Vernon Avenue, and Fayette Avenue in Washington Township

The intersection of Route 2040 (Main Street) and Route 21 (McClellandtown Road) in the City of Uniontown
Traffic impacts will include temporary pavement markers, temporary signalized intersections, flaggers, and short-term traffic stoppages, as needed. Pedestrians will be impacted by sidewalk closures and detours around the project.
Crews from Bruce-Merrillees Electric Company will be performing the work.
This work is part of a $3.6 million project to replace six existing traffic signals as well as upgrade intersections for both vehicular and pedestrian safety. The project is anticipated to be complete in August of 2024.
