    Route 136 Lane Restrictions Scheduled Next Week in Westmoreland County

    Uniontown, PA – PennDOT District 12 would like to inform motorists that Route 136 in Sewickley Township, Madison Borough, Arona Borough, and Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County will have daylight alternating single-lane restrictions between Route 3057 (Hermine West Newton Road) and Route 3079 (Millersdale Road) beginning Monday, May 15 through late October, weather and operational dependent. 

    Daylight alternating single-lane restrictions will be in place to allow crews to preform pavement preservation work including drainage upgrades, roadway widening, resurfacing, guiderail upgrades, pavement markings, and signage.

    Traffic will be controlled by flaggers. Motorists should exercise caution traveling through work zones and be alert for workers.

    Crews from Tresco Paving Corporation will be performing the work.

    This work is part of an $8.1 million project that includes tree trimming, bituminous base repairs, drainage, milling, and overlay work, guiderail updates, pavement markings, signage, and delineation on Route 136 in Sewickley and Hempfield Townships along with Arona and Madison Boroughs in Westmoreland County. The project is anticipated to be complete in October of 2023.

    Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.

    511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts.
