PennDOT's Greene County Maintenance Update

Uniontown, PA – Greene County Maintenance Manager, Dale Baird, announced the following tentative work plan for the week of September 4, 2023. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

During county maintenance work activities, motorists should expect to encounter flaggers, single-lane restrictions, moving operations and detours. Motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the usage of headlights.

Boom mowing:

  • Route 1010 (Rices Landing Road) in Rices Landing Borough;
  • Route 1015 (Clarksville Road) in Jefferson Township;
  • Route 1017 (Crucible Road) in Cumberland Township;
  • Route 3013 (Oak Forest Road) in Wayne Township;
  • Route 3014 (Bluff Ridge Road) in Wayne Township; and
  • Route 4031 (Dillie Road) in Washington Township. 

Bridge replacement:

  • Route 3013 (Oak Forest Road) in Franklin Township.
    • Road closed.
    • Detour is posted as follows:
      • Route 3013 (Oak Forest Road) to
      • Route 3014 (Bluff Ridge Road) to
      • Route 218 (Smith Creek Road) to
      • Route 19 (East High Street) to
      • Route 21 (West High Street/Main Street) to
      • Route 18 (West Roy Furman Highway / Golden Oaks Road) to
      • Route 3013 (Oak Forest Road). 

Litter and debris removal:

  • Interstate 79 in Franklin, Perry, Washington, and Whiteley townships. 

Minor drainage improvement:

  • Various state routes throughout the county.  

Pipe flushing:

  • Route 1015 (Clarksville Road) in Jefferson Township. 

Pipe repair:

  • Route 1015 (Clarksville Road) in Jefferson Township. 

Shoulder cutting:

  • Route 2003 (Big Shannon Road/Patterson Run Road) in Franklin, Perry, and Whiteley townships;
  • Route 2018 (Kirby Road) in Whiteley Township; and
  • Route 2020 (White Barn Road) in Franklin and Whiteley townships. 

Shoulder stabilization:

  • Route 2018 (Kirby Road) in Whiteley Township. 

Slide repair:

  • Route 4019 (Andrew Road) in Morris Township. 

Spray patching:

  • Interstate 79 in Franklin, Perry, Washington, and Whiteley townships; 
  • Route 19 (Mount Morris Road) in Perry and Whiteley townships; and
  • Various state routes throughout the county as needed. 

Surface milling:

  • Route 1011 (Clarksville Road) in Morgan Township;
  • Route 1017 (Crucible Road) in Cumberland Township; and
  • Route 1021 (Crucible Road) in Cumberland Township. 

Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.

Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the County. 

PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern.  This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways.  The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623).  

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
