    PennDOT’s Fayette County Maintenance Update

    July 13, 2023

    ​Uniontown, PA – Fayette County Maintenance Manager, Jason L. Spangler, announced the following tentative work plan for the week of July 17, 2023. All maintenance activities are conducted on a weather-permitting and operational basis.

    During county maintenance work activities motorists should expect to encounter flaggers, single-lane restrictions, moving operations, and detours. Motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the usage of headlights.

    Bridge replacement is scheduled for:

    • Route 4001 (Rush Run Road) in Luzerne Township

    Pipe repair is scheduled for:

    • Route 201 (Fayette City Road) in Fayette City

    Base repair is scheduled for:

    • Route 1029 (Everson Road) in Everson

    • Route 1033 (Narrows Road) in Connellsville / Bullskin Township

    • Route 1035 (Bell View Road) in Bullskin Township

    Shoulder cutting is scheduled for:

    • Route 281 (Mae West Road) in Markleysburg / Henry Clay Townships

    • Route 2013 (Maryland Road) in Henry Clay Township

    Brushing is scheduled for:

    • Route 4020 (Heisterburg Road) in Luzerne Township

    Boom mowing is scheduled for:

    • Route 3004 (Tobin School Road) in Springhill Township

    • Route 3003 (Tom Cat Hollow Road) in Springhill / Nicholson Township

    • Route 3005 (Gans Woodbridge Road) in German Township

    Sign upgrades are scheduled for:

    • Various Routes in North Union and Franklin Townships

    Sign clearing is scheduled for:

    • Various Routes in North Union and Franklin Townships

     Litter cleanup is scheduled for:

    • Route 0119 (George C Marshall Hwy) in North Union Township

    Concerns will be addressed on various routes throughout the county.

    Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.

    Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the County.

    PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern.  This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways.  The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623). 

    Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 

    511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts.
