    Epoxy Overlay Preservation Project to Begin Next Week in Westmoreland County

    Uniontown, PA – PennDOT District 12 would like to inform motorists that epoxy overlay preservation work is scheduled to begin next week in Westmoreland County, weather and operational dependent.

    Daytime single-lane restrictions will occur between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM on Monday April 17 in the following location.

    • Route 4013 (20th Street) between Locust Street / Burrell Hill Road and Coal Street / Penn Avenue in Penn Township

    Daytime single-lane restrictions will occur between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM on Tuesday, April 18 through Friday, April 21 in the following locations.

    • Route 4025 (Washington Avenue) between Main Street and Morris Avenue in North Huntingdon Township

    • Route 3069 (Wendel Road) between Turnpike Street and Arona Road in Hempfield Township

    • Route 3016 (Middletown Road) between Griffith Road and Arona Road in Hempfield Township

    Nighttime single-lane restrictions will occur between 6:00 PM and 8:00 AM on Tuesday, April 18 through Friday, April 21 in the following location.

    • Route 3111 (North Center Avenue) between Westinghouse Drive and Arona Road in New Stanton Borough

     The restrictions will be in place to allow crews to replace strip seal gland on the bridges.

    Traffic will be controlled with flaggers during operations. Please use caution while driving and be alert for workers in the work zone.

    Crews from MEKIS Construction will be performing the work.

    This work is part of a $2.08 million project that includes bridge preservation activities including a 3/8" epoxy-based surface treatment, minor bridge deck repairs, replacement of neoprene compression and strip seals, and other miscellaneous construction on 16 routes and 22 structures in Westmoreland County. The project is anticipated to be complete in October of 2023.
