Briar Hill Bridge Closure on Freeport Road Begins July 7 for Repairs

Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 10 is announcing the temporary closure of the Briar Hill Bridge on Route 3017 (Freeport Road) in East Franklin Township, Armstrong County.

The bridge will be closed with a detour from July 7 through 17 for repairs to the embankment at the southbound approach to the bridge.  To detour from West Kittanning, motorists will travel Route 28 Southbound to Exit 18: Route 128/Slate Lick/Northpointe. Turn onto Route 128/Freeport Road and continue onto Route 3017 (Freeport Road). Travelling northbound, motorists will take Route 28 to Exit 19: Route 422/Butler/West Kittanning then use the Route 422 ramp to Route 268/Franklin Hill Road; turn onto Route 3017 (Freeport Road).

Detour signs will be posted along the routes.

Contractor, Walsh Infrastructure Management will be completing this project anticipated to be completed by July 17, 2025.
