Due to safety concerns, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Mercer County, has closed access to the Shenango River Water Trail near the Ohl Street Bridge in Greenville Borough, Mercer County.
An Aids to Navigation Plan has been implemented and boaters are directed to utilize the access areas are Riverside Park and Kidds Mill Park. A copy of the navigation plan is available through the PennDOT website.
Those unable to access the information online may give feedback by contacting PennDOT Project Manager Greg Lindsay at grlindsay@pa.gov or 814-678-7365.
In addition to notifying the public of the Water Trail closure, the purpose of this press release is to allow the public the opportunity to comment on the department’s intent to use the Section 4(f) De Minimis Use form.
