Interstate 79 (I-79) is an Interstate Highway and a primary thoroughfare through western Pennsylvania. In District 11, I-79 goes through Allegheny and Lawrence counties starting at Mile Marker 50 and ending at Mile Marker 78 in Allegheny and extending in Lawrence from Mile Marker 105 to 111.

The project involves the replacement of four bridge decks at I-79 over Glenfield Road and at I-79 over Red Mud Hollow Road, as well as the rehabilitation of the I-79 Northbound bridge over I-279 Southbound.
The project is located on I-79 in Kennedy, Robinson, and Neville townships, and Glenfield Borough in Allegheny County and begins approximately a half a mile north of the Route 60 (Moon Run) interchange and extends nearly 5.5 miles to the northern end of the I-79 Neville Island Bridge.;
