Technology Assessment Group

The Technology Assessment Group (TAG) reviews requests for new and emerging technologies from several sources, including manufacturers and physicians, and recommends coverage decisions for the Medicaid / Medical Assistance (MA) Program. 

TAG is comprised of medical directors from Fee-For-Service, Office of Long-term Living, Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and Managed Care Organization delivery systems, reference file unit staff, consumers, and expert medical specialists as needed.

TAG Meetings

TAG meetings are held quarterly.  During the TAG meeting, new technologies or services are presented and reviewed and a decision is made about coverage to the MA Program.
