Trauma-Informed Care in PA Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services

The Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and the Bureau of Children's Behavioral Health Services have recognized the importance of Trauma-Informed Care since the early 1990s and has since been actively engaged in providing technical assistance, training, policy, guidance, support and monitoring procedures with a growing focus on establishing trauma-informed care in Pennsylvania's Mental Health Service System.

The Bureau of Children's Behavioral Health Services has developed a number of useful tools and resources for mental health service providers and other system partners and stakeholders for use in creating and sustaining trauma-informed programs, policies, and practices across the state.
