Allentown, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today the I-80 Delaware Water Gap Welcome Center in Monroe County will reopen on Wednesday (May 21). It was closed last November for facility repairs and improvements.
Repairs and updates were made to the roof and the interior of the building. All areas of the facility are now open to the public, including restrooms, vending and parking areas.
PennDOT Welcome Centers are open seven days a week, including most holidays, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with trained staff ready to provide information about regional attractions, and travel and accommodation assistance. Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following local accounts on X.
