  • Measures and verifies pollution emissions from industrial sources.
  • Operates Continuous Emission Monitoring program.
  • Conducts fuel analysis programs.
     

Continuous Emission Monitoring Section

  • Reviews quarterly data submissions.
  • Generates periodic and special reports from CEM information.
  • Performs on-site inspections of CEM equipment.
  • Performs audit programs consisting of challenging analyzers with calibration gasses and overall system evaluations.
  • Conducts phased approval system for design, installation, and testing of CEM systems.
     

Source Testing Section

  • Performs emissions tests in response to requests by regional personnel or for audit purposes.
  • Develops, implements, and oversees the  oxygenated and Stage II fuels programs in the southeast region.
  • Reviews consultant/company pre-test protocols and test report reviews.
  • Develops, implements, and oversees the Department's Stage II vapor control system testing program in the Southeast Region.
  • Evaluates new EPA testing/analytical procedures.
  • Observes source tests conducted by consultants/companies.
