    PennDOT to Close a Section of State Route 1005 in Jackson Township, Luzerne County

    Dunmore, PA – A section of State Route 1005 (Huntsville Road) in Jackson Township will close for bridge work from Monday, July 14, 2025 at 7:00 AM, through the end of July. The detour is as follows:

    North of the project site:

    • ·       Drive north on Huntsville Road.
    • ·       Turn right on Overbrook Avenue.
    • ·       Turn right on Pioneer Avenue.
    • ·       Turn right on State Route 309 for 1.8 miles to Exit 6.
    • ·       Take Exit 6, enter Main Street in Luzerne and continue south for 0.4 miles.
    • ·       Turn right on State Route 1002 (Courtdale Avenue/Luzerne Avenue).
    • ·       Turn right onto Mountain Road/Huntsville road.

    South of the project site:

    • ·       Drive south on Huntsville Road/Mountain Road.
    • ·       Turn left onto State Route 1002 (Luzerne Avenue/Courtdale Avenue).
    • ·       Turn left onto Main Street, Luzerne Borough, for 0.3 miles.
    • ·       Merge onto the entrance ramp for Route 309 northbound.
    • ·       Drive northbound on Route 309.
    • ·       Turn left onto Pioneer Avenue.
    • ·       Turn left onto Overbrook Avenue.
    • ·       Turn left onto Huntsville Road.
