Chris Davis joins the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture from the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE), where he served as the State Agriculture Education Specialist in the Bureau of Career and Technical Education. Prior to his time at PDE, Chris spent more than a decade teaching in Maryland and Pennsylvania classrooms, covering subjects ranging from Agricultural Mechanics to Animal Science.

Chris brings a broad range of hands-on agricultural experience to his new role. His background includes working on a combine crew, serving as an education intern on the Chesapeake Bay, working as an AI technician, herdsman for a 300 cow-calf pair operation, and shepherd for a flock of 100 commercial ewes. He also contributed to research at the Beef/Sheep Center at Penn State University.

Chris and his wife Cheryl live in Berks County with their two children, Rowan and Willow. Their family farm includes 20 ewes, two cows, a steer, chickens, turkeys, and a hive of bees.

As the new Executive Director of the Commission for Agriculture Education Excellence, Chris is excited to build bridges and support agricultural education across the Commonwealth. He looks forward to meeting and collaborating with educators, stakeholders, and community members to strengthen Pennsylvania’s agricultural future.
