Camp Hill, PA – Michael Gourley, superintendent of the State Correctional Institution at Camp Hill, reported today that inmate Bryan Conrad, 50, was found unresponsive in his cell on July 1, 2024. Prison staff immediately responded and provided life-saving measures until facility medical personnel arrived. Lower Allen EMS arrived and advanced life support measures were continued. Inmate Conrad was pronounced dead at 3:00 p.m.
Conrad was serving a 4- to-8-year sentence for Failure to Comply with Registration of Sexual Offenders Requirements 18 Pa. C.S. § 4915.1 – on a Cumberland County conviction. He had been at SCI Camp Hill since April 6, 2023.
In accordance with state policy, Pennsylvania State Police were notified and will conduct an investigation. The official cause of death will be determined by the Cumberland County Coroner’s Office.
The deceased’s next-of-kin has been notified.
