Uniontown, PA – PennDOT District 12 would like to inform motorists that pavement preservation work will begin next week on Route 188 in Franklin, Morgan, and Jefferson Townships and Jefferson Borough in Greene County, weather and operational dependent.
Weekday single-lane restrictions between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM will begin April 3 and continue through late October, as needed, from the intersection of Route 188 and Route 21 in Franklin Township to the intersection of Route 188 and Route 88 in Jefferson Township.
Single-lane restrictions, flagging operations, modifications to signal timing, and short-term stoppages will be in place to allow crews to perform base repair, drainage and signal upgrades, and install new pavement markings, signage, and guiderails.
Tresco Paving Corporation will be performing the work.
This work is part of a $3.5 million project for pavement preservation on Route 188. The project includes milling, base repair, asphalt paving, pavement markings as well as signage, guiderail, drainage, and traffic signal upgrades. The project is anticipated to be complete in October of 2023.
