Epoxy Overlay Preservation Project Scheduled Next Week in Westmoreland County

Uniontown, PA – PennDOT District 12 would like to inform motorists that epoxy overlay preservation work is scheduled next week in Westmoreland County, weather and operational dependent.

Nighttime single-lane restrictions will occur between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM on Monday, May 22 in the following location. In the event of inclement weather, work may be completed on May 30.

  • Route 4033 (Trafford Road) between Meadowbrook Road and William Penn Highway in Murrysville Borough

Nighttime single-lane restrictions will occur between 6:00 PM and 8:00 AM on Monday, May 22 and Tuesday, May 23 in the following location. In the event of inclement weather, work may be completed on May 30 and 31.

  • Route 3111 (North Center Avenue) between Arona Road and Westinghouse Drive in New Stanton Borough

Nighttime single-lane restrictions will occur between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM on Tuesday, May 23 in the following location. In the event of inclement weather, work may be completed on May 31.

  • Route 366 (Greensburg Road) between Albee Drive and Dutch Run Road in Upper Burrell Township

Nighttime single-lane restrictions will occur between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM on Wednesday, May 24 in the following location. In the event of inclement weather, work may be completed on May 31.

  • Route 56 (7th Street) between Stephenson Boulevard and Bell Street in the City of New Kensington

Nighttime single-lane restrictions will occur between 6:00 PM and 8:00 AM on Wednesday, May 24 and Thursday, May 25 in the following location. In the event of inclement weather, work may be completed on May 31 and June 1.

  • Route 366 (Freeport Street) between Greensburg Road and Bridge Street in the City of New Kensington

Nighttime single-lane restrictions will occur between 6:00 PM and 8:00 AM on Thursday, May 25 in the following location. In the event of inclement weather, work may be completed on June 1.

  • Route 366 (Stevenson Boulevard) between 7th Street and 4th Street in the City of New Kensington

The restrictions will be in place to allow crews to replace compression seals and strip seal glands, and place epoxy overlay on the bridge.

Traffic will be controlled with flaggers during operations. Please use caution while driving and be alert for workers in the work zone.

Crews from MEKIS Construction will be performing the work.

This work is part of a $2.08 million project that includes bridge preservation activities including a 3/8" epoxy-based surface treatment, minor bridge deck repairs, and replacement of neoprene compression and strip seals on 16 routes and 22 structures in Westmoreland County. The project is anticipated to be complete in October of 2023.
