Denton Hill State Park

Winter Recreation

Pennsylvania state parks are open 365 days a year, even in the winter. The Winter Report provides ice and snow depth information for state parks.

Enjoy the Winter

The vegetation on the downhill ski slopes is partially maintained to provide the opportunity for uphill skinning or hiking travel for telemark and back-country skiing.  Snow surface of the slopes is not currently maintained or groomed, and caution should be used due to constantly changing conditions.

Park trails are open for cross-country skiing. The eight miles of park trails connect with many more miles of trails in the adjoining Susquehannock State Forest, including the 29-mile Denton Hill Cross-country Ski Trail System, which is groomed.

Please check the trail difficulty rating before adventuring on the trails.

Denton Hill State Park is closed for downhill skiing.

DCNR, in partnership with Denton Go, is committed to revitalizing groomed downhill skiing and rehabilitating the downhill skiing infrastructure within the park.  Stay tuned for updates.

Designated sledding areas are available at the base of the hill near the Adventure Center.

Denton Hill State Park has direct access to the 43-mile loop trail in Susquehannock State Forest.

Parking is available but limited. Contact Denton Go for more information.

The modern cabins and RV Campsites have direct access to the trail system.

Park trails are open for snowshoeing. Please check the trail difficulty rating before adventuring on the trails.
