Purpose
The purpose of this announcement is to notify Infant Toddler and Preschool Early Intervention programs that announcement EI 07-12 PA Pre-K Counts (PKC) and Early Intervention Working Together is now obsolete.
Background
In 2007 the Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) issued announcement EI 07-12 PA Pre-K Counts (PKC) and Early Intervention Working Together to provide information on 1) the Early Intervention (EI) program and 2) the relationship between Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts (PKC) and EI in supporting preschool aged children with disabilities or developmental delays. The announcement was issued to both Infant Toddler and Preschool Early Intervention Leadership, and PA Pre-K Counts programs.
Discussion
This Announcement serves as communication that announcement EI 07-12 PA Pre-K Counts (PKC) and Early Intervention Working Together is obsolete. This does not change current practice as the content of the obsolete announcement is embedded in Early Intervention Program’s service delivery model of coaching all Pennsylvania’s early childhood programs, including PKC. Additionally, the content has been incorporated into PKC regulations, 22 Pa. Code Chapter 405. Pa Pre-K Counts.
Next Steps
Infant Toddler and Preschool EI programs should:
- Review this announcement and update their local procedures as appropriate.
- Review the PKC regulations.
