Overview

The Organ and Bone Marrow Donation Tax Credit program is designed to improve outcomes for patients awaiting organ and bone marrow transplants by reducing financial barriers to living donation. The tax credit, awarded to employers, is equal to the amount of compensation paid to an employee during the leave of absence. The credit is equal to the sum of the employee compensation paid during the leave of absence (not to exceed five days), the cost of any temporary replacement help and any qualified miscellaneous expenses incurred in connection with the leave.
