ICYMI: Pennsylvania Educator from Mifflin County Named 2025 National Teacher of the Year

Ashlie Crosson, an educator at Mifflin County School District, was the 2024 Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year and is Pennsylvania’s first-ever National Teacher of the Year.

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) congratulated Ashlie Crosson, who teaches Grade 10 English, AP Language, & Composition at Mifflin County High School in the Mifflin County School District in Lewistown, for being named 2025 National Teacher of the Year—the first-ever Pennsylvania educator to receive the honor.

The National Teacher of the Year (NTOY) Program, administered by the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) and whose lead sponsor is Google for Education, identifies exceptional teachers across the country, recognizes their effective work in the classroom, engages them in a year of professional learning and amplifies their voices.

Crosson, who was Pennsylvania’s 2024 Teacher of the Year, holds a Bachelor of Arts in English/Journalism from Susquehanna University, a Masters in Educational Leadership from Pennsylvania State University, and a gifted education endorsement from Millersville University.
