Bridge Preservation Project to Begin on Route 23 (Marietta Ave) in Lancaster County

Alternating directions of two-way traffic will be controlled by temporary signals

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced today that a bridge preservation project is set to begin on Route 23 (Marietta Avenue) in Lancaster County. The bridge spans Norfolk Southern railroad tracks between Spring Water Circle/St. Leo Way and Trolley Avenue in East Hempfield Township.

Weather permitting, work will begin Tuesday, September 5. This project will be completed in phases with temporary traffic signals maintaining alternating directions of two-way traffic.

Deblin, Inc., of Mechanicsburg is the contractor on this $1,649,207 project. All work is expected to be completed by December 1, 2023.
