    Schedule Update: Work Continues on Centerville Road Interchange Improvement Project in Lancaster County

    Nighttime traffic restrictions on Route 30, Centerville Road

    Harrisburg, PA – Due to the forecast for precipitation, work planned for tonight on Route 30 at the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement Project in East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County, has been postponed. Work planned for tonight on Centerville Road also has been postponed. 

    Work will now be performed the nights of Tuesday March 7, through Thursday, March 9, at both locations.

    There will be lane restrictions in both directions of Route 30 from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM each night.

    The restrictions will allow the contractor to reset barrier, repaint pavement markings and perform paving to place the highway in its regular alignment. Traffic currently is shifted to the outside shoulders. 

    Shoulder closures will be in place along the median and at ramps at the interchange.

    Work on Centerville Road includes placing pipe between Estelle Drive and the westbound Route 30 ramp to Centerville Road. 

    This work will be performed Tuesday through Thursday night from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Centerville Road will be restricted to a single lane with flaggers providing traffic control. 

    Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.

    This work is weather permitting.

    This work is part of the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement project, which consists of structure replacement, Superpave overlay, base replacement, roadway widening, milling, guiderail improvements, drainage improvements, pavement markings, ADA improvements, traffic signal improvements, and other miscellaneous construction. The project includes work on Centerville Road from Cornerstone Drive to Marietta Avenue (Route 23), and Marietta Avenue from Centerville Road to Stony Battery Road.

    JD Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, PA is the prime contractor on this $36.3 million project. Work is expected to be completed by July 22, 2025.
