Contractor to perform steel repairs
Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a daytime lane restriction will begin next week on the northbound Interstate 83 John Harris Memorial (South) Bridge spanning the Susquehanna River between Cumberland and Dauphin counties. The restriction is needed so a contractor can perform steel repairs on the bridge.
Weather permitting, work will begin Monday, June 3, and will continue for approximately two weeks. The right (exit) lane to 2nd Street on northbound I-83 will be closed weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Three lanes will remain open, as will the exit ramp to 2nd Street.
Motorists should be alert, drive with caution and watch for slow moving vehicles.
