King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that several state highways are scheduled for resurfacing operations in Bucks and Montgomery counties, under several projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway across the Philadelphia Region.
The work schedules and locations are:
Bucks County
- Thursday, May 11, through Friday, May 26, weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Route 332 (Yardley Newtown Road/Afton Avenue) between the Interstate 295 interchange and Route 32 (Delaware Avenue) in Lower Makefield Township and Yardley Borough for milling and paving.
Montgomery County
- Sunday, May 7, from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Old Welsh Road between Route 63 (Edge Hill Road) and Fitzwatertown Road in Abington Township for milling and paving;
- Sunday, May 7, from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Matsonford Road between County Line Road and Route 320 (Gulph Road/Montgomery Avenue) and Matsonford Road/Fayette Street between Rebel Hill Road and Elm Street in Upper Merion and Lower Merion townships and West Conshohocken and Conshohocken boroughs for milling and paving;
- Sunday, May 7, through Thursday, May 11, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 73 (Skippack Pike) between Route 29 (Gravel Pike) and Green Hill Road in Worcester and Perkiomen townships and Skippack Borough for paving;
- Monday, May 8, through Friday, May 12, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Matsonford Road between County Line Road and Route 320 (Gulph Road/Montgomery Avenue) and Matsonford Road/Fayette Street between Rebel Hill Road and Elm Street in Upper Merion and Lower Merion townships and West Conshohocken and Conshohocken boroughs for milling and paving;
- Monday, May 8, through Friday, May 12, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning and 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Old Welsh Road between Route 63 (Edge Hill Road) and Fitzwatertown Road in Abington Township for milling, paving and utility adjustments;
- Wednesday, May 10, through Friday, May 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Matsonford Road between County Line Road and Route 320 (Gulph Road/Montgomery Avenue) and Matsonford Road/Fayette Street between Rebel Hill Road and Elm Street in Upper Merion and Lower Merion townships and West Conshohocken and Conshohocken boroughs for utility adjustments; and
- Wednesday, May 10, through Friday, May 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Knapp Road between U.S. 202 (Parkway) and Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike) in Montgomery Township for utility adjustments and milling and paving.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under these resurfacing projects, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surfaces and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
