King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that Interstate 95 is among several state highways scheduled for patching and resurfacing operations in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties, under several projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway across the Philadelphia Region.
The work schedules and locations are:
Philadelphia
- Monday, April 24, though Friday, April 28, from 8:00 PM through 5:00 AM the following morning, alternating lane closures are scheduled in both directions on I-95 between the Girard Avenue and Columbus Boulevard interchanges for concrete road patching; and
- Monday, April 24, through Friday, August 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lance closure is scheduled on the southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) off ramp to Ridge Avenue for inlet repair.
Bucks County
- Monday, April 24, through late May, weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on County Line Road/Main Street between Bethlehem Pike and Hillcroft Way in Telford, West Rockhill, and Hilltown townships for milling and paving.
Chester County
- Monday, April 24, though Friday, April 28, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on State Road between the State Road bridge over Big Elk Creek and Barren Road in Elk Township for paving.
Delaware County
- Sunday, April 23, through Friday, April 28, from 7:30 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Springfield Road between Netherwood Drive and Route 320 (Sproul Road) in Marple and Springfield townships for milling and paving;
- Sunday, April 23, through Friday, April 28, from 7:30 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Baltimore Pike between State Street/Brooke Street and Oak Avenue in Swarthmore, Morton, Media, and Clifton Heights boroughs and Nether Providence, Springfield, and Upper Darby townships for milling and paving;
- Monday, April 24, through Friday, April 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Springfield Road between Netherwood Drive and Route 320 (Sproul Road) in Marple and Springfield townships for utility adjustments; and
- Monday, April 24, through Friday, April 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Baltimore Pike between State Street/Brooke Street and Oak Avenue in Swarthmore, Morton, Media, and Clifton Heights boroughs and Nether Providence, Springfield, and Upper Darby townships for utility adjustments.
Montgomery County
- Sunday, April 23, through Thursday, April 27 from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 73 (Skippack Pike) between Route 29 (Gravel Pike) and Green Hill Road in Worcester and Perkiomen townships and Skippack Borough for milling and paving;
- Monday, April 24, through Friday, April 28 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 73 (Skippack Pike) between Route 29 (Gravel Pike) and Green Hill Road in Worcester and Perkiomen townships and Skippack Borough for utility adjustments; and
- Tuesday, April 25, through Thursday, April 27, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Broad Street/Penn Avenue/Souderton Pike between Market Street/Lincoln Avenue and Hatfield Souderton Pike in Hatfield Borough and Franconia Township for milling.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under these resurfacing projects, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surfaces and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
