Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that the newly installed traffic signals at the intersection of Route 42 (Mall Boulevard) and Route 4003 (Frosty Valley Road) in Hemlock Township, Columbia County, are activated.
Traffic Impacts
On Tuesday, June 11, 2024, the traffic signals were placed into flash activation. This provides notification to the traveling public that the traffic signal will be activated within the next week.
Route 42 will have a flashing yellow light.
- A flashing yellow light means caution.
- Motorists should slow down, look, and proceed through the intersection with care.
Frosty Valley Road will have a flashing red light.
- The flashing red light has the same meaning as a stop sign.
- Motorists should stop, look both ways, and proceed only after the intersection is clear.
On Tuesday, June 18, 2024, the traffic signals will be fully activated. The traffic signals were installed as part of an intersection improvement project, that included road widening and the addition of turn lanes. Don E. Bower is the prime contractor for this intersection improvement project. Hemlock Township is the sponsor of this project.
Route 42 and Route 4051 (Lunger Drive)
Motorists are advised that the no turn on red sign has been removed at the intersection of Lunger Drive and Mall Boulevard. Motorists are reminded to stop, look both ways, and only proceed after the intersection is clear when turning right on red.
