Contractor Returning to Route 3023 Bridge to Finish Epoxy Overlay

Mifflintown, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that crews will be returning Monday May 8 to complete an epoxy overlay on a Juniata County bridge. The bridge spans Tuscarora Creek on Route 3023 (Pumping Station Road).  near the village of Perulack. The epoxy overlay to the deck and approach slabs is the last step in a replacement project that started in 2022. Replacing the bridge removed it from the list of Juniata County bridges in poor condition. The project included drainage improvements on Route 333.

During the epoxy work, traffic control will consist of single-lane closures controlled by flaggers in the roadway. PennDOT urges drivers to exercise caution and obey posted speed limits in all work zones.

Lobar Site Development Corporation of Dillsburg, PA, was the contractor on this $2 million project. PennDOT expects the epoxy overlay work to be complete by the end of the work week, but all work is weather dependent.
