Resurfacing Operations Scheduled Next Week on U.S. 1 (Kennett-Oxford Bypass) and Other State Highways in Philadelphia Region

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing is scheduled on U.S. 1 (Kennett-Oxford Bypass) and other state highways in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties, under several projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway across the Philadelphia Region.

The work schedules and locations are:

Bucks County

  • Wednesday, June 14, through Friday, June 30, weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a periodic lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Route 332 (Yardley Newtown Road/Afton Avenue) between the Interstate 295 interchange and Route 32 (Delaware Avenue) in Lower Makefield Township and Yardley Borough for milling and paving.

Chester County

  • Sunday, June 11, from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, alternating lane closures are scheduled in both directions on U.S. 1 (Kennett-Oxford Bypass) between the U.S. 1 (Kennett-Oxford Bypass) bridge over branch of Tweed Creek and the Maryland State line in West Nottingham and East Nottingham townships for milling and paving; and
  • Monday, June 12, through Friday, June 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, alternating lane closures are scheduled in both directions on U.S. 1 (Kennett-Oxford Bypass) between the U.S. 1 (Kennett-Oxford Bypass) bridge over branch of Tweed Creek and the Maryland State line in West Nottingham and East Nottingham townships for leveling operations and milling and paving.

Delaware County

  • Monday, June 12, through Friday, June 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Morton Avenue/Swarthmore Avenue between U.S. 13 (Chester Pike) and Route 420 (Woodland Avenue) in Rutledge, Ridley Park, and Morton boroughs for utility adjustments; and
  • Monday, June 12, through Friday, June 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on U.S. 13 between Morton Avenue and the Delaware State line in Trainer and Marcus Hook boroughs and the City of Chester for utility adjustments.

Montgomery County

  • Sunday, June 11, from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Armand Hammer Boulevard between Industrial Highway and High Street in Pottstown Borough and Lower Pottsgrove Township for milling and paving;
  • Sunday, June 11, through Friday, June 16, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 73 (Skippack Pike) between Route 29 (Gravel Pike) and Green Hill Road in Worcester and Perkiomen townships and Skippack Borough for sawing and sealing operations;
  • Monday, June 12, through Wednesday, June 14, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Armand Hammer Boulevard between Industrial Highway and High Street in Pottstown Borough and Lower Pottsgrove Township for utility adjustments and milling and paving; and
  • Monday, June 12, through Friday, June 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Linfield Trappe Road between Lewis Road and Township Line Road in Limerick Township for utility adjustments milling and paving.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Currently, PennDOT is working on several resurfacing projects in the Philadelphia Region totaling $134 million. Under these projects, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surfaces and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
