Resurfacing Scheduled on Several State Highways Next Week in Bucks, Delaware, Montgomery Counties

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing is scheduled on several state highways next week in Bucks, Delaware, and Montgomery counties, under several projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway across the Philadelphia Region.

The work schedules and locations are:

Bucks County

  • Monday, April 3, through Friday, April 21, weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Bethlehem Pike between Route 309 (Sellersville Pike) and Route 152 (State Road) in West Rockhill and Hilltown townships; and
  • Monday, April 10, through Friday, April 28, weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Old Lincoln Highway between Route 213 (Maple Avenue) and the southbound U.S. 1 on ramp in Middletown Township for milling and paving.

Delaware County

  • Sunday, April 2, through Thursday, April 6, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Morton Avenue/Swarthmore Avenue between U.S. 13 (Chester Pike) and Route 420 (Woodland Avenue) in Rutledge, Ridley Park, and Morton boroughs;
  • Sunday, April 2, through Thursday, April 6, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on 9th Street between Baker Street and U.S. 13 (Highland Avenue) in Trainer Borough and City of Chester for milling;
  • Sunday, April 2, though Friday, April 7, from 7:30 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Baltimore Pike between State Street/Brooke Street and Oak Avenue in Swarthmore, Morton, Media, and Clifton Heights boroughs and Nether Providence, Springfield, and Upper Darby townships for milling and paving;
  • Monday, April 3, though Friday, April 7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Baltimore Pike between State Street/Brooke Street and Oak Avenue in Swarthmore, Morton, Media, and Clifton Heights boroughs and Nether Providence, Springfield, and Upper Darby townships for milling and paving;
  •  Monday, April 3, through Friday, April 7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on U.S. 13 between Morton Avenue and the Delaware State Line in Trainer and Marcus Hook boroughs and the City of Chester for paving and utility adjustment; and
  • Monday, April 3, through Friday, April 7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on 9th Street between Baker Street and U.S. 13 (Highland Avenue) in Trainer Borough and City of Chester for paving.

Montgomery County

  • Sunday, April 2, through Thursday, April 6, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 73 (Township Line Road) between the Cheltenham Township line and the Philadelphia line in Cheltenham and Abington townships for milling;
  • Sunday, April 2, through Thursday, April 6, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 232 (Oxford Avenue/Huntingdon Pike) between the Philadelphia County line and the Abington Township line in Rockledge Borough for milling;
  • Monday, April 3, through Friday, April 7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 73 (Township Line Road) between the Cheltenham Township line and the Philadelphia line in Cheltenham and Abington townships for utility adjustments; and
  • Monday, April 3, through Friday, April 7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 232 (Oxford Avenue/Huntingdon Pike) between the Philadelphia County line and the Abington Township line in Rockledge Borough for utility adjustments.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under these resurfacing projects, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surfaces and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
