King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that stormwater improvements are planned on several state highways in Chester, Montgomery, and Delaware counties, under a $14.9 million project to upgrade stormwater management facilities on more than 90 state highways across the five-county Philadelphia region.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Monday, July 29, and Tuesday, July 30, Hibernia Road will be closed 24/7 between Lafayette Road and Cedar Knoll Road in West Brandywine Township, Chester County. During the closure, motorists are directed to use Cedar Knoll Road, Route 82 (Manor Road), and Lafayette Road.
- Monday, July 29, through Friday, August 2, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Devon State Road between Forest Hills Circle and Spencer Road in Eastown Township, Chester County.
- Monday, August 5, through Friday, August 16, Route 401 (Conestoga Road) will be closed 24/7 between Fairview Road and Saint Andrews Drive in East Nantmeal and West Vincent townships, Chester County. During the closure, motorists are directed to use Fairview Road, Route and 100 (Pottstown Pike).
- Thursday, August 8, through Friday, August 23, Trooper Road will be closed 24/7 between Township Line Road and Schultz Road in Worcester and East Norriton townships, Montgomery County. During the closure, motorists are directed to use Township Line Road, Route 363 (Valley Forge Road), and Woodlyn Avenue.
- Monday, August 19, through Friday, August 30, Bethel Road will be closed 24/7 between Featherbed Road and Smithbridge Road in Concord Township. Delaware County. During the closure, motorists are directed to use Smithbridge Road, Kirk Road, and Featherbed Road.
Local access will remain for closures. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near or through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. The schedule is weather dependent.
Highway Materials, Inc. of Flourtown, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on this project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
